Gray dogwood is usually found in moist areas and along streams and ponds. It has white flowers in late spring and grayish-green leaves 2-4” long that turn purplish in fall. Stems that hold flowers are red, and white berries (NOT edible to humans) are formed after flowers drop. Spreads quickly if root suckers are not removed, making it good for borders. Mature height and spread of up to 15’. Prefers well-drained soils and full sun to part shade, but is very tolerant of many conditions.

Uses: Watershed, Shelterbelt, Habitat/Food Wildlife, Native
