The Fraser fir is narrow and pyramidal in shape with flattened, shiny, dark green needles (1” long) that are white-banded beneath. Cones are purple and appear upright on the branches. It is one of the most popular Christmas trees. Mature height up to 50’ with a spread of up to 25’. Prefers full sun to partial shade and rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.
