Eastern White Pine

Transplant 24-36"
Eastern white pine matures to a broad oval shape and is found in a variety of habitats. Needles are bluish green, 5” long, soft to the touch, and are arranged in bundles of 5. Cones are 4-8” long and are usually not seen for 5-10 years. It is fast growing and hardy, providing excellent windbreak and is also an important timber tree. Mature height of up to 80’ with a spread of up to 40’. Prefers full sun to partial shade and acidic, medium moisture, well drained soils-does not tolerate compacted, clay, or alkaline soils.
Uses: Shelterbelt, Native, Habitat/Food Wildlife, Environmental Forestry, Timber
